Co-owned and personally supervised by Rob Rudman & Julie Briggs (nee Rudman), all staff are actively involved in some form of cycling.We are constantly striving to stay ahead and not resting on past achievements. Being well known and respected for our expertise in wheel building and bicycle set up skills, Rob prides himself on the friendly family atmosphere which is a noticeable quality of the shop.A wide range of specialised tools is sourced for the benefit of the discerning home tool owner, an aspect not often offered. Latest information on Wattage power meters, expertise in servicing shocks and a sound general knowledge from the “school” of being in the business for over 30 years are all trade marks of the shop’s continual growth.
ABOUT ROB:
As a Christian family man, he treats every customer as he himself would like to be be treated. Rob is the co-founder of the area's largest cycle race ~ The Herald Cycle Tour. He is also a founder member
together with Humphrey Gerretsen and Theo v Ruben of what is now know as the Masters and ladies cycling club .He has been both assistant and manager of the SA Protea Mountain Bike Team participating at the World MTB Championships in Canada (1998) Vail, USA (2001) and Austria (2002) as well as having competed in the masters MTB World Champs in Canada in 1999 and 2001 which gained him his SA Masters Colours in both Crosscountry & Downhill disciplines.
His technical expertise includes being the mechanic for the SA mtb side and holding a Weldtite International Platinum Mechanical certificate.
On the home front, he is a previous age category winner of the Argus cycle tour and was the E P Time Trial Champion in his younger years. He therefore has a wide field of personal experience regarding Road & Mountain bikes, He still rides Road & mountain bikes socially. He still participates in social rides with friends.
